Celebration of Hattie’s life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday March 22, 2018 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL.

Burial will be in Yager Cemetery.

Visitation will be 9:00am till service time at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Bend Community Club. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.

Hattie M. (Goss) Yager, 86, of Oblong, IL, the bend area passed away on Sunday March 18, 2018 at the Magnolia Center at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.

She was born in Jasper County, IL on January 9, 1932 to Louis Goss and Mary (Menacher) Goss. On September 8, 1950 she married Darrel A. Yager who preceded her in death on January 28, 2009.

Hattie was a homemaker.  She was a member of the South Bend Congregational Church.  She enjoyed watching and feeding hummingbirds. Hattie also enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, crocheting and cross stitch.  Hattie loved to cook big home cooked meals for her family.

She is survived by  two sons and a daughter-in-law Jeff and Lesa Jo Yager, Oblong, IL and Jay Yager, The Bend; one daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Tom Fear, Newton, IL; five grandchildren Candace and Chris Cotton, Huntley, IL, Alisha Fear and James Brockett, Altamont, IL, Tyler and Chelsey Yager, Oblong, IL, Levi and Megan Yager, Oblong, IL, Cody Yager of Oblong, IL and fiancé Jenna Birkofer, Robinson, IL; six great grandchildren Caden Cotton, Huntley, IL, Madison Brockett and  Ava Brockett, Altamont, IL, Ansley Yager, Avery Yager and Barrett Yager, of Oblong, IL. Hattie is also survived by four brothers Wilmer Goss, Gerald and Jean Goss, Dan Goss and Cloyce and Bonnie Goss; five sisters Dorothy Campbell, Emma Burbank, Mary Catherine and Ted West, Betty Moore and Judy and Joe Lamkin along with several nieces and nephews, and Tabitha Brown a great niece who was a care giver to Hattie.

Hattie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant sons Dennis Darrel and Randal Wayne Yager and one brother Joe Goss.
